1920
William Morris and Zale had a vision: to provide customers with high quality goods with the lowest price possible. Vision becomes reality with the first jewelry store Zales in Wichita Falls, Texas, on March 29, 1924. The inventory includes small appliances, cameras and cooking vessels, except in jewelry.
1925
At Zale brothers launched a revolutionary strategy with a marketing plan loan for "a penny down and a dollar a week, making jewelry and other goods available to the average working American.
1938
Success of credit policy, combined with friendly customer service, leading to a major period of expansion, about a new store every year for a total of 12 stores in Oklahoma and Texas by 1942. A purchasing cooperative system was created to centralize purchasing and distribution of goods to all stores, allowing larger quantities company to buy with low prices. Centralized purchasing concept marks the beginning of the Zales chain stores.
1941-1944
Zales jewelry meets the limited production of consumer goods during World War II, taking its current prices for jewelry, reducing costs and seeking opportunities for growth. Zales Corrigan won by Houston, his first "carriage trade" (fine jewelry) store in 1944 ultimately led to the start of Bailey Banks & Biddle brand.
1946
Zales jewelers moving its headquarters from Wichita Falls to Dallas.
1950
The company installs a computer system the first in the country and is one of the first major jewelry to begin training in governance.
1957
Zales jewelers expands its reach, opening its first store in the shopping center ─ a big change from its business only in downtown areas. In the same year, Zales announced the initial public offering of its stock (ZLC) and its shares began public trading on the American Stock Exchange next year.
1960
Following the discovery of synthetic diamond technology, diversified company, branching out into shoes, sporting goods, drug stores, furniture stores and catalog. Reflecting this diversity, company name became Zale Corporation.
1970
M.B. Zale retired as company chairman in 1970. Company sales tripled during the decade of the 1:04 billion U.S. dollars in 1980.
1984-1985
Zale Corporation presents buying 890-carat gold "Diamond peerless," the biggest diamond in the world perfect. In 1985, Zale moved its world headquarters of Irving, Texas.
1986-1989
Leveraged buy Zale Corporation Peoples Jewellers of Canada and Swarovski International of Austria is complete. Gordon jewelers, a 469-store chain, won in 1989.
1990 they
In 1992, Zale Corporation files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but next year, financially stronger company after restructuring its debt. Five years later, annual sales of over 1.3 billion dollars, showing a profit in four quarters for the first time since reconstruction.
1998
Zales Sofia corporation was started by 13 countries in contact centers across the country Prime Minister. Online shopping is set to zales.com.
1999-2000
Zale extended by two major acquisitions: Jewellers peoples of Canada and Piercing pagoda.
2007
Zale has expanded his business-www.gordonsjewelers.com start trading. Good to focus on their business base and increasing returns on equity, Zale divests Bailey Banks & Biddle brand.
2008
Zale Corporation creates a new management team led by CEO Neal Goldberg, Zale staff that includes veteran and new talent with significant retail experience. The JCK-Harrison Group Consumer Jewelry Study Zales ranked # 1 in self-consciously marks.
2009
Zale Corporation marks 85th anniversary of the opening of the first jewelry store Zales Board with a donation of one and the Zale Foundation, presented to Donald Zale, the son of company founder MB Zale.
